OK, so guys dread the idea of going to see date movies with their girlfriend. Date movies, are of course, usually romantic or romantic comedy movies. While it is true that there are a lot of bad date movies, there are also some good ones that even guys will like. We'll go over the best date movies.

1. "Gone With The Wind"

This is not just the best romance film of all time, but also one of the best films ever and definitely one of the best date movies. "Gone With The Wind" tells a very compelling story about a manipulative woman and a mischievous man who have a love affair in southern America during the Civil War and Reconstruction.

2. " Casablanca "

" Casablanca " is one of the best date movies around. Set in the Moroccan city of Casablanca during World War II, the film centers around an exiled American and former freedom fighter (Rick Blaine) and his ex-lover (Ilsa) who previously walked out on him in Paris . Rick is bitter toward Ilsa until he learns that she had a good reason to leave. He forgives her and they decide to reconcile. Unforeseen complications develop.

3. "Pride and Prejudice"

Perhaps you are looking for a recently released movie worth seeing-this one fits the bill. While the remake of "Pride and Prejudice", remade in 2005, isn't the best date movie, it's still a good one. Based off of Jane Austen's classic novel, the story focuses on a young woman (Elizabeth Bennett) who refuses to marry a rich, handsome man (Mr. Darcy) that her mother has tried to pair her with. Bennett ends up changing her mind after becoming involved in an unexpected adventure with Darcy.

4. "The Notebook"

"The Notebook", based off of the novel by Laura Mitchell, is a good, passionate romance film. The movie focuses on two teenagers from two social orders who share a magical summer together. Unfortunately, they are forced apart by the young woman's parents due to the fact that the young man is poor while the young woman comes from a rich family. Seven years later, the two are reunited and they rekindle their romance, which forces one of them to choose between love and social order.

5. "Sleepless in Seattle "

Released in 1993, this charming romantic-comedy has earned a lot of praise. The film centers on a widower named Sam and his son named Jonah who both move to Seattle . Sam's son believes that his dad needs to marry again to get things in his life back under control. Jonah calls a radio show and gets Sam to go on the air. Sam's message is heard by a woman named Annie Reed, who is engaged. However, Annie is so intrigued by Sam that she decides to meet him. They end up meeting on top of the Empire State Building in New York . Sparks fly between the two as the movie progresses.
