"My Love"
By Bobby Allen
" I'd like to speak just how I feel.
I'd say it in front of you...
but my words just ran away
If you could understand
how much I care, I think I'd be ok
I haven't felt quite like this,
this feeling for so long.
How in my life, I must have missed,
what feels right, not even closed to being wrong
If you understand what you bring
in me, so much I feel alive.
All doubt diminishes from my face,
your love, I need in my place.
I'm not trying to flatter you,
as some may think.
I have no cause to play any kind of game.
My feelings are true and from the heart,
if we don't ever make it, I hold myself to blame....
For my mind and heart is open to you,
Diane my darling, my dear,
I love you very much....
I'll always want you near."
"I Promise"
By Joe Urbauer
" I promise you my love
I promise you my heart
I promise you my life
I promise we'll never be apart
I promise not to hurt you
I promise to never make you cry
I promise to always trust you
I promise not to lie
I promise you forever
I promise you tonight
I promise you my respect
I promise to do things right
I promise to always be there
I promise until the end
I promise to always love you
I promise to be your best friend
I promise you my love
I promise you my life
I promise this forever
I promise our LOVE is my life"
"The Will You Marry Me Poem"
By Mark King
"I was sitting at my desk
Pondering what to say
"Lord, please give me inspiration!"
Earnestly I prayed
With a pad in the left hand
And a pen in the right
I was a man on a mission
Needing a poem for tonight
They say roses are red
And violets they are blue
No--that's a pansy beginning
And that will never do
The sun shining bright in the day
The moon glowing in the night
No--that won't work either
It just doesn't sound right
You can see my dilemma
A poem to construct
Feeling broken and defeated
I wanted to give up
Then it came to me
In a vision like a dream
A picture of the woman
God has prepared specially for me
I chuckled to myself
How could I've not seen
With five simple words
This poem is complete
(name), will you marry me?" |
It's possible that you don't like any of the three poems above. Maybe you want some short love poems instead-if that's the case, do an internet search for those poems and you'll find plenty of material. Or perhaps you'd rather write the poem yourself. In that case, you could write funny love poems, or romantic love poems about your girlfriend/boyfriend.
The process for doing this is quite easy. All you have to do is think about how you feel about him/her and try to put that in a rhyming form. Be sure to say the words "I love you" in your poem. You should be able to write great love poetry if you keep the above in mind.
