Male Body Language

Male body language
Learn to project the right kind of body language.

Reading a man's body language - and projecting male body language - is just as important as being able to understand female body language. When a guy likes a girl, he behaves in certain ways unconsciously. Not only can these male body language changes be read and understood, subconsciously, by women, but a man can learn how to project these things consciously (to a certain degree).

To gain a clear understanding of male body language, try watching what other men do in public. What works - what doesn't work - and which guys go home with women? Only part of this is body language, of course, but you'll start to notice patterns pretty quickly.

The most important male body language trick to learn is the projection of strength. This is done with the whole body; the face, the eyes, posture, and the way guys hold their arms and legs are all critical for projecting strength. Set your feet apart slightly when standing, for instance, so that your body points (head, arms and foot) have about the same dimensions as a narrow road cone. When talking, keep your arms folded when being serious, and spread them when you're being sincere and open, especially when you talk about yourself.

Once you have what you think is a good grasp of male body language, try it out. Go out and meet the eyes of a girl who seems to be noticing you. When you notice her noticing you, smile at her - and grin if she starts to look embarrassed. Let things go on for a little while. If she's not too shy, she should approach you.

Don't torture her, though. When she's obviously flustered at your gaze, she's definitely ripe for you to go over and talk to her. While you're talking to her, keep your body language open. Lean toward her a little, and keep yourself between her and other males; this is male body language for "keep away, she's under my protection."

Don't ever be afraid of dancing. When you dance, you're talking with your entire body. Forget the dorky teen dances you may still be doing; if you're uncomfortable on the dance floor, there's nothing wrong with taking a few dance classes. While you're in class, you can even ask your teacher for pointers on male body language. There is no doubt that he or she will have some great suggestions.

In the end, male body language is all about drawing women to you, and then convincing them that you are that strong, virile man they took you for in the beginning. For this reason, you don't want to have any wishy-washy movements; start with a firm handshake and let that same strength move throughout your entire body. Remember, strength is the most important trait you can communicate.

Learn to talk with your entire body. When you project the proper male body language, you'll become a magnet for women.
